Monday, January 19, 2009A Soul Cleansing SunsetWhen the dashboard at Travelocity was hitting counts for the "$189.00" roundtrip to Las Vegas or the "$1580.00" Princess cruise to the Carribean, I settled on Fort Langley as my soul cleansing destination for an easy Sunday afternoon. It is one thing to travel and another to retrieve my long lost sanity. As it turns out, it was not any other "travel" travel, it was an "star trek' worthy travel: I went back in time, 150 years ago, and watched The Hudson Bay Company of Britian made their first trade. Destination: Fort Langley Gas: $10.00 Royal Albert Sugar and Creamer Set: $40.00 Coffee: $1.50 Euphoria Chocolate box of 6: $8.25 Admission: $7.00 Cleansing the soul: Priceless Labels: C.Y. Yung, Euphoria Chocolates, Fort Langley, Royal Albert China, The Hudson Bay Company Tuesday, January 13, 2009"AMBROSIA" : Your love will be reciprocated![]() After months of "words cannot even begin to describe" intense preparation, my band LOCUS' full length album has finally arrived accompanied by screams of "OMG", "YAY" and more "OMG". I mean, seriously, we didn't even made it to a movie during production period, and our studio was just a few blocks down from "Quantium of Solace" and "Twilight". . . but we didn't. . . so I guess spending $9.99 for a Rogers movie night for 1 dvd rental and a pack of popcorns would be how we celebrate our CD release. Seriously. "Ambrosia" now available at Zulu's Records on West 4th, Vancouver, BC, Show Attitude @ Crystal Mall, Burnaby, BC/Aberdeen Centre, Richmond, B.C. Rather, take this chance of being snowed in and spend sometime fixing up yourself some quality time with yourself. Get your wine and cheese ready for a cozy day in. 1. A facial: You have the whole day to take your time on the exfoliater, the deep cleansing mask and the whitening/moisturizing mask that follows it. During your waiting time, make youself a hot green tea and some nice oakmeal bars as snacks. 2. Turn on the tap and soak into a fragrance-filled bubble bath followed by a hot shower. Just like what you would exfoliate your face, why not take the time and exfoliate your body as well? I am still very shocked to learn how many ladies miss out on the benefit of exfoliating. When you are done, moisturize with some fragrance body lotion. Who said you cannot put on fragrance when you are staying in? 3. Some thing with body exfoliation, I am also shocked by the fact that alot of ladies never wash their makeup brushes and sponges. The makeup residue, dirt, and other bacteria would stick onto these beauty tools. They will cause bad breakouts and uncomfortable irrtations in the long run. M.A.C carries a good quality brush cleanser that I am very fond of. Do this once every two weeks and your brushes will last longer. Not to mention you will feel better when you put on your makeup knowing your brushes are C.L.E.A.N. 4. Now that you have got yourself taken care of, how about the extent of yourself meaning your loft?? Spend sometime, clean up the coffee tables, throw out old newspapers ( not the magazines though, they are books of art.), re-organize your waredrobe, and while you are at it, pick out some old pieces that you do not wear anymore and send them to the charity organziation. Remember, beauty also comes from within, give your inner beauty a makeover while you give your outer beauty the whole nine yards. Lunch with a good friend, Zi, and a new friend, Patrick, @ the elegant Milestone's on Brunette Hwy. Special medal of honor to Zi, who droved his front wheel drive manual automobile, in the snow, and on the ice, on a tuesday, all the way from the west side to the suburb for a 1pm luncheon. Friendship? Definitely priceless. 2. Followed by attending an art gallery exhibit @ Autumn Book Gallery on W.4th, Vancouver, supporting an artist friend, the very lovely and talented Ms. Michelle of artatsnow, whom had pieces showcased, and SOLD within the first 10 minutes since the event started. Congrats to the now new proud owner of what should have been priceless: the invisible force of talent of an art guru expressed on a visible medium. 3. Put the cherry on top with a quiet dinner with my dear princess sister Jessica @ The Earls on W. Boardway. She has also given me a surprise christmas (post christmas actually) gift: a beautiful coat designed by Jessy the Queen B of fashion herself. It's so one of a kind, so elegant, it is still hanging on the front door of my closet. It is priceless. And at the end of the day, I was still bounded to the tradition of the last moments of an old year: looking back at what I had done and haven't done. I had done less than what I should have, and I haven't done more to make myself doing less of doing less. All in all, I had put my new year resolution into three simple goals: 1. Now that we have remastered and almost going to print the second LOCUS album, let's get the third album done and DONE this year. Seriously. Life's too short. (Jason and Kelvin are you reading this ^^?) 2. Buy that John Variato "Vintage" fragrance. Unless I magically receive one from my fairygodmother. 3. Spend more time going to lunch than dinner. I am more awake during lunch time becausee I do not drink wine with my pastas at 1pm in the afternoon.
